If you are wondering it, another parent probably has too. We would rather explain something twice than have a family leave feeling lost.
What ages do you serve?+
Our current program is designed for children ages 3–6. We look at fit individually because age alone does not tell us whether our model is appropriate.
Is Sensory Escape a preschool or daycare?+
No. Sensory Escape is a pediatric intervention center. We are not a daycare, preschool, before-school or after-school care program.
Do you provide ABA?+
No. Sensory Escape is intentionally sensory-first and does not market or provide ABA services.
Do you accept children with IEPs?+
Yes. We review the current IEP and relevant records to understand whether our program can appropriately support the child"s goals and needs. An IEP does not automatically guarantee enrollment.
What is an ETR?+
An Evaluation Team Report is part of Ohio’s special-education evaluation process. If you are new to the process, we can help you understand the documents you have and what questions to bring to your school team.
Can you help me understand my IEP?+
We can help families understand the information in their records and discuss how goals may translate into functional participation at Sensory Escape. We do not replace the school team or amend an IEP ourselves.
Do I need to have everything figured out before contacting you?+
Absolutely not. Start with what you know. Tell us your child"s age, what brings you to us and what you are hoping will be different. We can tell you what information we need next.
Do you automatically provide OT, speech and PT?+
No. Clinical services are individualized. OT, SLP and PT are considered based on documented need, the child"s plan, clinical judgment and applicable authorization. There is no automatic therapy bundle.
How does the Autism Scholarship fit in?+
Ohio’s Autism Scholarship Program can allow eligible families to choose participating providers for education and services described in the child’s IEP or AEP. Scholarship eligibility, provider participation and funding rules are handled through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. We will help you understand the process, but we do not guarantee eligibility or coverage.
Can I send you my child"s IEP by email?+
Please do not send IEPs, ETRs, evaluations or other sensitive child records through the public website inquiry form or ordinary email. Once you are invited into our secure family workflow, records can be submitted through the appropriate controlled process.
What if my child needs support that is outside your model?+
We will be honest. Safety and appropriate fit come before enrollment. Sometimes the right answer is a referral or a different level of support.
What happens after I submit an inquiry?+
We review the basic information, contact you, determine what records or conversation are needed, and schedule a family consultation when appropriate. There is no pressure to enroll.
What if I am newly diagnosed and have no idea where to start?+
Start with our Family Resources page or contact us. We can help you identify the next conversation—school, county board, pediatrician, therapy, scholarship or simply learning more about your child.
Do you support parents, too?+
Yes. We believe the family needs support, not just the child. Our sister nonprofit, Stark Sensory Center for Neurodiversity, is being developed to provide parent support groups, twice-monthly respite nights and broader neurodiversity community connection.
