OUR APPROACH

A different way to think about intervention.

We start with the child—not the diagnosis.

PHILOSOPHY

Intervention should meet the child—not force the child to fit the intervention.

At Sensory Escape, we believe meaningful progress begins with understanding the whole child. Regulation, communication, participation, learning and independence are interconnected. When a child feels safe, regulated, understood and supported, they are better able to communicate, engage, explore, learn and build skills for greater independence.

Sensory-first does not mean sensory-only.It means regulation, access and the child’s nervous system are considered as part of the conditions needed for meaningful participation and learning.
SIX CORE PRINCIPLES
01

Regulate

A regulated nervous system creates access to interaction, communication and learning.

02

Communicate

Communication includes speech, AAC, gestures, movement and every meaningful way a child expresses themselves.

03

Connect

Relationships and genuine participation are central to development.

04

Learn

We create conditions where children can explore, practice and experience success.

05

Participate

Skills matter because they help children take part in real routines, relationships and experiences.

06

Grow

The goal is progress that carries into home, school and community.

COLLABORATION

One child. One connected plan.

Families should not have to stitch together disconnected services. When appropriate, intervention, OT, SLP and PT perspectives can inform one another while the family remains at the center.
